Training Resources For Teachers

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) would like to introduce an exciting tool for teacher training, new member classes, and leader development, Opening Doors to Discipleship. This free online resource for PC (USA) congregations and members offers study materials and opportunities for groups or individuals.

The enclosed brochure provides an overview of what you will find when you visit this address: openingdoorstodiscipleship.com. When at the site, take time to read the information on the home page. You will hear the story of how and why the site was developed and suggestions for using the three courses. For full access to all session materials, click the "Register" button.

During the registration process, you will be asked for your denominational login number. The PC (USA) login number is 31627. Enter this secure code when prompted for immediate access to the entire site. You will not need this number again, only your personal email and the password you select. For security purposes please protect the login number. DO NOT place the number on other web sites or in print materials that are posted on the web. Protecting this number secures your personal information from phishing attempts.

You can give the login number to other members of PC (USA) or other congregations in the presbytery. If someone of an other denomination is interested in access to the site, please ask him or her to contact Candace C, Hill at candace.hill@pcusa.org, for information about obtaining an individual or denominational login code.

After you have familiarized yourself with Opening Doors to Discipleship by taking a site tour, you may be interested in reading an article with more suggestions and information about using the site. You can find the article and other information about your educational ministry at this web address: http://www.pcusa.org/ideas/2009spring/equipping.htm.

Opening Doors to Discipleship was developed to help congregations equip volunteers and members on their journey of faith and to help them equip others. May God richly bless you and your church as you find creative ways to use this web site.
