The youth activities at
Kettle Moraine United Presbyterian church have worked to develop our
youth membership while aiding many with needs.
Youth activities include delivering the
"Angel Tree" gifts to children of imprisoned parents and performing
maintenance duties at a variety of camps for handicapped children.
In addition the youth play a valued role in our
services.
Last summer youth participated in mission to Gays mills, WI where they aided
flood victims. Youth also assisted in the movement of our church
library.
Youth Group is led by long time member Mary Steinbauer who works to maintain an active group with creative interests.

This

was entered in the Patriot's Pen Competition. JB won first place at the
Post
level. Congratulations to JB!
Why America's Veterans Should Be Honored
Our
American Veterans should be honored because they have stood up for our
country and fought for our freedom. Our Veterans have sacrificed
Christmas, holidays, birthdays, and much more to keep us free and let
us sleep through the night without worries of being attacked. I pray
every night for the freedom of our country and to keep our troops safe
and alive. The U.S.A has fought long and hard since World War I,
World War II, The Korean War, The Vietnam War, and now the horrible and
long lasting Iraq War. The American troops are willing to risk their
lives for anyone in the U.S.A on a daily basis. I can remember when we
invaded Iraq. It was a scary thought, but I realized that our troops
are fighting to protect us and keep our nation free, which is why we
need to honor .them. In Washington D.C. there is a monument that was
built to honor our troops. Unfortunately, many of our veterans cannot
afford to fly out to D.C. to see the monument that was built in their
honor. I think schools need to have a fundraiser to save enough money
to fly veterans out to D.C. to see the monument, and veterans would be
greatly honored. When our Veterans are in war, they sacrifice so
many opportunities for us. They have missed out on raising their
children, participating hi special celebrations, and spending quality
family time in order to protect the U.S.A, fight for our freedom, and
keep us safe. Our Veterans have been wounded, paralyzed, sick, and
pushed through very hard times, all to keep us safe. The world these
days without our troops and Veterans would be deacjly. They stick up
for us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we should greatly appreciate
them and give back all that we can. The U.S.A owes our many thanks
to U.S. Veterans and soldiers, and my goal is to repay our veterans by
creating a fundraiser called, Support a Veteran, to raise money and
send a veteran to Washington D.C. to see the monument. My school will
be taking a class trip ]:o Washington D.C. this year, and I would love
to meet up with and hear a veteran's life story. Our veterans have
sacrificed everything for our country, and I intend to show support and
honor them one veteran at a time. John Denny
