Prayer of the Day LISTEN IN
*Hymn: #41 "O Come, All Ye Faithful"
* Prayer of Confession LISTEN IN God,
our eternal light, you have shown us your glory by sending a Savior,
the Word made flesh. Change our lives through Jesus' coming, we pray.
Our darkness is so deep, but your light is strong. We hear many voices
and our hearts are pulled in many directions, yet you call us to
worship and serve you alone. In your love, there is healing, so we ask
your forgiveness today for our failure to hear and obey your word. As
you came once in human form, break into our lives as well, that we may
discover your Spirit who makes all things new. We ask this in the name of him whom you sent to us in Bethlehem. Amen. *Silent Confession
*Declaration of Forgiveness Pastor: God sent his own Son, born of a woman, born under
the law, to purchase freedom for the slaves of the law so that we might
have the dignity of God's heirs. Friends, believe the good news. People: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Amen.
^Response: #359 (v.l) "More Love to Thee, O Christ" More love to thee, O Christ, More love to thee! Hear Thou the prayer I make On bended knee. This is my earnest plea: More Love, O Christ, to Thee, More love to thee, More love to thee!
