Prayer of the Day

"Hymnal: #526 {Vv. 1,2, & 2.5)    For All the Saints"

* Prayer of Confession        LISTEN IN
Lord God, you have created our hearts large enough for abundant life. But we confess that too often we have settled for lesser things. Too tired to reach out, too distracted to be faithful, too rebellious to receive your love and grace, we too easily accept where we are. We become content with a mediocre hope. Startle us with your good news of love and forgiveness that we might experience your gift of real life and trust you with a childlike faith.   Amen.
*Silent Confession

*Declaration of Forgiveness
Pastor: God has received Jesus Christ as our
representative bearing gifts and sacrifices for our sins. Friends, believe the good news.
People:  In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Amen.

*Response: #280 (v. 1&2)  "Amazing Grace"

Old Testament Reading - Psalm 107 (Selected)
Leader: Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love
endures forever.
People: Let the redeemed of the Lord say this -
Leader: Those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,
People: Those he gathered from the lands, from east
and west, from north and south.
Leader: Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no
way to a city where they could settle
People; They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives
ebbed away.
Leader: Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and
he delivered them from their distress.
People: He led them by a straight way to a city where
they could settle.
Leader: Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing
love and his wonderful deeds for all people,
People: For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry
with good things.
