*Call
to Confession LISTEN IN Lord
God, we live in a world which is focused on self. We worry about
self- fulfillment and self-esteem
and self-motivation and self-satisfaction. We work hard to satisfy our
longings. But still we are discontent and thirsty. Forgive us when we try to quench our
thirst and feed our longings with relationships and things and work which will
never satisfy. In your mercy, cleanse our hearts, our minds, and our wills and
draw us to yourself, the only one who can fill us, quench
our thirst and satisfy our deepest needs.
Amen.
*Silent

Psalter
Reading: Psalm 33 (Selected) Leader:
Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; People:
It is fitting for the upright to praise him. Leader:
Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. People:
For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he
does. Leader:
The Lord loves righteousness and justice; People:
The earth is full of his unfailing love. Leader:
Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world
revere him. People:
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people of his
inheritance. Leader: From heaven the Lord
looks down and sees all humankind; People:
From his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth. Leader:
We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and shield. People:
In him our heart rejoices, for we trust in his holy name.
