    People:  We will sing praises to God and we will tell of God's wonderful works.

    Leader:  Glory is God's name.  Let all who seek God's way rejoice!

    People:  We come rejoicing and praising God!

 Greeting

    Pastor:  The Lord be with you.

    People:   And also with you.

Prayer of the Day

(Pass prayer requests to the aisle; ushers will collect them.)

 *Hymnal:    #507                     “I Come With Joy”

 * Prayer of Confession

     How many times, O God, have we separated ourselves from our families, from our neighbors, from friends, and from the world around us?  There are times when that separation is healthy and necessary for our sense of balance and even safety.  But many times have we separated ourselves from you and from the human connection, and this brings hurt to us and to others.  Forgive us, Loving God, when this happens, and enable us to be honest with ourselves, to see within our own hearts, to question our own motives, to change those things that make for unhealthy and harmful separations.    We pray this in Jesus’ name.        Amen.

 *Silent Confession

 *Declaration of Forgiveness

      Pastor: Hope is held out in God’s call to you, one Christ, one faith, one baptism, one God, parent of us all.   Friends, believe the good news.

      People:   In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.  Amen.

 *Response:   #345       “Dear Lord and Father of Mankind”

      Dear Lord and Father of Mankind, Forgive our foolish ways;

      Reclothe us in our rightful mind, In purer lives Thy service find,

      In deeper reverence, praise.

 Sacrament of Holy Baptism

 Psalm 105 (Selected)

      Leader:  O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name, make known his deeds among the peoples.

      People:  Sing to him, sing praises to him: tell of all his wonderful works.

      Leader:  Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of all those who seek the Lord rejoice.

      People:  Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually.

      Leader:  Remember the wonderful works he has done,

      People: His miracles and the judgments he has uttered.

      Leader:  He is the Lord, our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

      People:  He is mindful of his covenant forever, of the word that he commanded.

      Leader:  He brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with singing,

      People:  That they might keep his statutes and observe his laws.  Praise the Lord!
