FREE AUDIO BIBLES FOR EVERYONE
All adults and teens who come to church June 8 will receive a free copy ot the New Testament on CD, MP3 format. Children will receive a free Bible Stories CD. These are being given by Hosanna Ministries of Albuquerque, NM, through their Faith Comes By Hearing program. They are doing this to raise awareness of the need to put audio Bibles in the hands of millions of people who do not read. All they ask is that a free will offering be taken to support the work of Wycliffe Bible Translators who are working to get the Bible to smaller people groups all over the world.   They give them an audio player that is battery-powered and can be recharged with a hand crank or by the sun.
Be sure to come June 8 (9 a.m.) and receive your audio Bible; also, come prepared to make a donation so others can hear God's Word. Invite others to come that day, too. (The Session approved this at the last meeting.)

THANK YOU
Hello friends at KMUPC,
After finishing up my academic career at Whitewater, I wanted to let you all know what I will be doing after I graduate. I am planing go to India with Adventures in Missions (I guess it'll be a real adventure, haha) in September to serve the poorest of the poor and to share the Gospel of Christ to the people in New Delhi. I would love for you to join my team in prayer and support as I go over, not only representing this congregation, but the entire Christian church. I hope to love many of the "untouchables" in the name of Jesus. Thank you to all who have faithfully supported me in the past; without you, God's love would not have touched as many people as it has. I thank God for every one of you and am praying for you all. If you would like to receive a support letter from me, you can either leave me your name and address in the "Edlhuber" mailbox at church or email me at jpedlhuber@yahoo.com. Please be praying with me as I gear up and head out. Thanks again for everything and God bless! -Joey Edlhuber

COMMITTEE REPORTS
A Note from the Clerk of Session -
Greetings All. My friend Tom Ehrsam told me something at Session that I think 1 have thought about almost every day since. He said we should all try to make God smile each day.
At our last Session meeting, I think we did make God smile. We had a joint meeting with the Deacons, just to keep the lines of communication open. Our Deacons are very busy people!   They are responsible for asking volunteers for the Sunday Fellowship Hour, Worship Child Care, Ushers and Worship Assistants, which is no easy task. If you can sign up for any of these areas, I know it would make God smile. The Deacons also collect food for the local food pantry and for special food boxes which go to members of our community. Any donations from you will be greatly appreciated.
As we worked through the meeting itinerary and each committee chairperson gave their report, I could not help but be grateful for the hard work and time each one is putting in. I pray that everyone will consider helping out somewhere in our Church. 1 saw a church sign a few weeks ago the said: Don't just attend, get involved! Now, wouldn't that just make God smile?
Yours in Christ. Kathy Lembke

Christian Education Notes
Christian Education is available in many forms: schools, sermons, music, mission and books.   The following lists some of the educational opportunities for the Summer & Fall.
1.  Vacation Bible School - The Vacation Bible School this summer will be a single day session with study and fun time. It has been rescheduled for August 9th - 10AM -4PM with a swim/cookout to follow.A program is currently being selected and promises to SOAR HIGH with excitement. KMUPC's school is open to the entire community so invite your friends and neighbors.
2.  Church School - The new church school format continues to develop and evolve. Mary Steinbauer will be meeting with parents to reinforce commitments and begin planning.
3.  Mission- The June Mission trip offers a great opportunity to work & pray together. Please join us - in my experience Mission effort is a tremendous spirit builder and educator. Well be working in Western Wl to repair and restore some of the flood damaged homes.
4.  Library - The Library will be moving this Summer into the outer office making your book search more accessible. New books are available and some books are available for download at our website. Read a book and feed your mind.
5.  Website - The website www.kmupc.com offers evermore opportunities for learning. There are audibles of many sermons by Pastor Wayne, visitors, and youth. If you missed an Sunday, fell asleep or simply want to reacquaint yourself with a particular sermon - go to previous sermons and listen in. Music is also available for your listening - go to the Music page and sing along. Please pay frequent visits!

Evangelism Update
The Annual Pie Auction will be held on September 6th. We are moving it back to the church property and once again will feature the Chicken Dinner. Tickets in advance will be $8 per person and we will have a limited number of tickets available for purchase the day of the event for $10 per person. We will not be offering any Senior citizen discount or a child's ticket. Dinner will start at 4:30pm with the Pie Auction to start at 5:30pm. All proceeds will be given to support Dr. Denny's mission work (to help offset the cost of shipping supplies). Start looking for those great recipes and practicing your pie-baking skills. Ask your neighbors, friends, co-workers and relatives to this fun filled event.
Then as long as you are in the baking mood, mark your calendars for the Cookie Walk to be held on December 6th. Watch for more details as the time draws near.
Remember these events are only as successful as you make them.

Nominating Committee Report
On May 15th, Rev. Roger Woehl and Rev. Bill Zieche spoke at an informational meeting for the congregation regarding the Pastor Nominating Committee. Thank you very much to Roger and Bill for taking the time to share with us! If you were unable to attend the meeting but would like to view a recorded version of the meeting., please contact me.
The Nominating Committee is currently accepting names for consideration for Session and Deacons. If you would like to submit your name or the names of others, please submit them to a member of the Nominating Committee or email them to me at clarisseme@yahoo.corn.
Watch for an upcoming congregational meeting to elect our future PNC (the date is still not scheduled).
Please continue to pray for the Nominating Committee, the church, Pastor Wayne and our future pastor.
Respectfully Submitted, Catherine Warden

Personnel Committee
Thanks go to Patricia Mauel, Sherry Edlhuber, Pat Kallas, and Ann Mahaney for all the information shared with me. 1 also thank Emily Guderyon and Roxanne Baumann for volunteering to serve on this committee, which will meet for the first time in June. It's important to understand and learn what's been done in the past. My goal is to understand the current state; and then review that against our current and future needs. 1 look forward to working with the Session, and the congregation on needs as we move ahead; and would appreciate any feedback on critical issues that need immediate attention. Please contact me directly should you have new needs of our staff so we can work to serve you.   Have a great summer!
Bob Baumann

What Makes a Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,
He called it... Dad

Jesus on the 4th of July
We gather 'round to celebrate

Jesus on the 4th of July
We gather 'round to celebrate
On Independence Day
Pay Homage to our country
As the children run and play.

With Barbecues and picnics
And fireworks in the air
The flag we own is proudly flown
To show how much we care.

The stars and stripes spell freedom
She waves upon the breeze
'White Bursts of colors can be seen
 Above the towering trees.

This is all quite wonderful
We revel in delight
But God above in divine love
Has brought this day to light.

With just a strode of liberty
A touch of His great hand
He gave democracy to us
And helped this country stand.

The stripes upon our stately flag
Were touched by His sweet grace
Each star of white that shines so bright
Reflects His loving face.

So as you turn to face the flag
For battles that were fought
Be filled with pride for those who died
And freedoms that were bought.

But don't forget to thank the One
That gives the bright display
The reason why we paint the sky
