YOUTH MISSION TRIP INFORMATION
WHEN:
July 24 - 25, 2009

PURPOSE
OF THE TRIP:
To
benefit children and youth of that area of the city who come for
Super Saturday as they -
Receive
the benefit of our labor of love as we help lead various activities
Get
to know and experience the love of sisters and brothers of the faith
Experience
the presence of love and unity in Christ through us
Make
a difference in the lives of people in Milwaukee’s inner city
To
benefit the mission team members as we -
Experience
community building working together as teens and adults from our
church
Experience
growth in knowledge and faith as we worship and work with our team,
other
volunteers, and the staff of COAH
Learn
more about God and God’s Word through Bible study and discussion
Learn
about and get to know people in a different residential and cultural
setting
SCHEDULE:
Friday,
July 24 –
4:30
p.m. Depart church parking lot, with a stop to eat together.
6:00
p.m. – Welcome, History, and Information about City on a Hill
ministry, plus facility tour.
7:00
p.m. – Plunge Teaching and Preparation for Super Saturday
Saturday,
July 25 –
8:30
a.m. - Breakfast
9:30
“ - Prayer Service for the Event
10:00
“ - Set-up and Preparation
1:00
p.m. – Super Saturday Activities
6:00
“ - Close-out and Depart for Home
TRANSPORTATION:
Personal vans
& cars, etc.
ADULT
SPONSORS: Pastor
Wayne, Mary Steinbauer, and other adults
PARTICIPANTS:
Teens and adults are
invited to go and participate in this event. Friends will be
welcome, but they must be willing to follow behavior guidelines and
participate in all activities. We need at least 8 people total,
teens and adults, to be able to go and provide some help in this
event.
Registration
and permission forms will be available June 28. An orientation and
planning meeting will be held in early July.
COST:
$50.00 per person.
Some of the cost for the trip will be covered by the Youth Fund.

Kettle Moraine United Presbyterian Church
is active in Mission:
Presbyterian Women prepare several
Layetts
each year containing blankets,
diapers and
baby items that are sewn, knit
and crochetted
with love.
KMUPC actively particpates in
Samaritan's
Purse Operation Christmas Child
and provides
Christmas gift boxes to families
where a
parent is jail confined.
Youth is active in numerous activites
that
include fundraisers, food drives,
and delivery
of Christmas gift boxes.
Members have participated in
missions to
Mississippi and Louisiana to
help reconstruction
efforts.
Members participate locally working with Habitat
for Humanity and Lakes Free Clinic.
A member of our Congregation, Dr. Arlen Denny is the CoFounder of Medical Missions to Colombia,
established in 1987 and specializing
in deformities
of the face jaws and skull from
trauma, and
birth defects in children and
adults. He
has led medical teams for 20
years going
to Colombia. He recently commented
that he
was driven to mission to use
the skills with
which he has been blessed to
help others.
Generous financial support is provided to
several missionairies working around the
Globe. One such organization Africa Circle of Hope brings hope to babies and children in Kenya.
Anyone interested in getting involved in missions is invited to attend
the next committee meeting on October 28th, at 9:00 a.m.at the church.
The
socks for "Sock it to Poverty" will be collected at church on the 19th
of October. This project will help some people from becoming homeless
with rent assistance and transportation help to their jobs.
We
will be collecting clothing, shoes, and bedding for New Life
Presbyterian on two Sundays, October 26th and November 2nd. The
clothing should be clean and in good condition and in bags After the
new year, we will be collecting household items and furniture but we can't take those items until then. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
